All staff in your senior care community need to be Create a Better You Certified.

Retention is catching—retain your good workers, and your workforce becomes more stable. Make your community the place where long-term caregivers want to work, and it will be a community where residents want to stay.

Completing a generic course of study to begin a career does not consider the standards in your community and frequent changes in care delivery staff face today.  All staff, especially millennials, are interested in self-improvement to help elevating their status. Create a Better You Certified is a great way to deliver this to them.

How to Change Resident Behavior

Create a Better You Certified is based on your trained and motivated staff who are key to any behavior change by residents.  If your organization believes that wellness programming will attract and retain residents, staff must embrace this, leading and supporting residents.

Only facilities where staff are Create a Better You Certified can offer the Create a Better You Senior Wellness System for residents.

o   Attract vital new residents for whom wellness is an important lifestyle choice.

o   Better balance, agility and mobility are key factors in fall prevention.  There are no guarantees, but studies show clearly that seniors who exercise have fewer falls than those who do not.

o   By reducing falls, you retain residents who want a healthier style of life in retirement.

o   Attract and retain staff who want to be part of a community that offers new ideas and programs for residents, and more training for staff.

Who should be Create a Better You Certified?

Ideally, every staff member should be certified because movement and balance affect most aspects of your residents’ daily lives:

o  All professional staff who are in contact with residents, so they can effectively assist with and support the system .

o   Administration and marketing staff need to be familiar with all aspects of Create a Better You to explain the system to prospective residents and reinforce the exercise wellness regimen with current residents.

o   All resident companions/helpers and life enrichment staff who will be conducting evaluations, entering Dashboard data and assisting residents with their exercises.

o   All outside physical therapy providers who are working with your residents who are also enrolled in the Create a Better You Senior Wellness System.

o   Dining room staff see and help residents walk and transfer.  They can identify at risk residents by behaviors they observe.
